First Impressions

Creating a memorable first impression is an important first step, and there’s no better way to stand out than having a brand. Your brand includes everything from the logo you use, to the colours, and even the type of fonts in place.  It’s important to keep this consistent throughout your marketing – and especially on your website. Don’t try to be Everything to Everyone

No one wants to pigeonhole themselves, but choosing a certain section of town, neighbourhood, property type, or a combination of these to focus on will allow you to stand out from the pack.

There’s nothing wrong with having a general focus like “Calgary Real Estate”. However, keep in mind, it puts you in competition with 100’s of other realtors, some of whom may have near limitless budgets to work with.  Having a specific focus will give help narrow the list of competitors and improves conversion rates.


Should you have a specific focus, make sure you promote it throughout your website. A great example of a team who specializes specifically in rural properties: acreages411.ca.  They’ve taken this property type and focused not only their design, but also their landing pages, searches, and even forms!
