Even though Facebook was founded over 10 years ago, businesses are still looking for ways to leverage it to boost leads and sales. We have listed some tips below to get you started with using Facebook to leverage engagement and gain a following.

Use the Hashtags (#)

This relatively new Facebook tool allows you to categorize your posts, making it easier for people to find you. It allows you to reach a broader audience, expanding your post’s reach. Users are able to find related hashtags, meaning someone may stumble across your post without actually searching for your name!

Gain Insight

Each Facebook page created uses Facebook Insights to track the number of likes you have received, and the amount of engagement and reach each post has had. This makes it easier to set goals for yourself and track how successful your page and posts are.

Think Outside Facebook

The easiest way to gain more likes and followers is to make it easy for people to like something you have done, no matter where you have done it. On your blog, you can add social media share plugins, making it easy for people to like one of your blog pages. When a user “likes” a page or post, that appears as a notification in their newsfeed meaning now your post has reached all of their friends too!

For your website, you can add a Facebook Like widget to the homepage (we have one for our Pro Level users). Advertising your page and making it easy to like across as many mediums as you can is a great way to gain reach and followers.

Promote Your Friends

Facebook is a two-way communication street, and what better way to leverage your network of clients and colleagues than to promote their Facebook page on yours! With a little luck, they will pay you the same respect, adding to your reach and following.

Update Regularly with Unique Content

Most places on the internet recommend updating Facebook with no more than one or two posts per day. This helps keep you in the mind of your Facebook followers without clogging up their newsfeed.
The posts you do make should be valuable to your followers. Links to resources, blog posts on the communities you serve or even reviews of local restaurants can all be great Facebook posts to engage your followers.
Speaking of engagement, ask questions! This is an easy way to start a conversation and make a positive impression on potential leads.
If you are anything like myself, I have a hard time keeping up with things in my own life, let alone trying to post to Facebook two times a day! Redman can assist you with our Facebook IDX App which automatically posts your MLS listings to your Facebook page. It also creates a tab on your Facebook page which allows users to browse your listings right on Facebook. It is an excellent and easy way to assist in turning your Facebook followers into leads. If you would like more information on the Facebook IDX App, please contact our Sales Team today!
