Continuing with our series about editing the stock content provided with your Redman Tech website, we will be looking at the addition of call to actions that are customized to fit you as a REALTOR®. To write a good call to action, is to understand what exactly a call to action is. Simply put, it can be defined as “Words that urge the reader, listener, or viewer of a sales promotion message to take an immediate action, such as “Write Now,” “Call Now,” or (on Internet) “Click Here.” A retail advertisement or commercial without a call-to-action is considered incomplete and ineffective.” via businessdictionary.com

Knowing what a call to action is, you can break down the steps into 3 points:

  1. For a potential customer to act on a call to action, there needs to be a statement, benefit or problem doing the action resolves. This can be something short and concise like ‘Receive Free Updates – Sign-Up Now’ to something more verbose like ‘Signing up for Example Realty’s newsletter gives you access to newest, just-listed properties in your area. Sign-Up Now!”. In it’s essence, you want to state what the user will get out of completing the call to action, before asking them to act.
  2. Limit the actions you want the user to make. Asking them to do this, that and the other thing will only cause confusion. If your goal is to get users to sign up for your Market Reports, all your call to actions should be about getting users to sign up for the Market Reports. There is of course exceptions to this rule, obviously on your contact page you will not be discouraging potential customers from contacting you in favour of signing up for your Market Reports.
  3. A call to action should clearly tell users what you want them to do. They should include active words like call, sign-up, and buy now. Something that can cause confusion with potential customers when using action words is switching back and forth between the words you use. If your call to action is “Sign-Up Now!” switching to “Register Now” may cause confusion and make the user think they are not registering when they sign-up and vice versa.

Use these tips and tricks to customize the content on your Redman site today. The simple addition of some well written call to action statements will help you convert those casual visitors to your site into serious clients.
