When designing a real estate website, there is a simple checklist that should be followed to build and enhance your career. If done right, this could potentially create leads for you for years to come!
First there should be only 2 reasons why you want visitors to come to your real estate website:
1. Direct Response – by offering services and data that will appeal to the type of visitors you want to attract. ex. Full searching capabilities for properties or home buying and selling advice.
2. To Build Your Image – just like the response a person may get from driving by a billboard or passing by an ad, what image is your website delivering to the reader. Hint – An image of an active successful Realtor looking to serve people is a good reason.
Establishing these two points, will obviously take some personal investigation on your part. It is advised to have these simple questions sorted out before you start developing your website.
Secondly:
1. What is the main purpose of your site?
2. How are you going to be attracting and developing traffic for your site? (Yes, you are partly responsible for this)
3. What do you need on the home page to initially gain the interest of your visitors? (Property access is one main reason for visiting. What could be another reason?)
4. Should you have an offering for present clients? Do you have a membership or VOW (Virtual office website)
5. In one sentence can you describe how you would like your visitors to perceive you as a persona to do business with. Nowadays, many people will check out your website prior to determining if they want to business with you.
6. Do you have information that will accomplish these questions on your website?
7. Budget, yes you will need a budget. Find a budget that will help you establish your goals.
Remember, Web Leads can be Very Profitable if You:
1. Build the right site for you and your potential customers
2. Learn how to attract the right visitors to your website
3. Practice the art of converting visitors into clients
